Frigid fun

That would describe my ride this afternoon. Damn, it was cold going across the bridge!  The fog was so dense it was spitting large water droplets and visibility was down to around 10 feet.

The weather conditions were not much better in the Marin Headlands, other than at the very top, where sun and warm weather could be found. 500 feet later you would suddenly be back in the fog and temperatures would plunge by 30 degrees. It was a roller coaster weather ride.

Thanks for the company Mark! It was great to shake the cobwebs out.

Good luck to you and everyone else racing this weekend.

emily- measuring quads is very scientific. i dedicated this post to it. 47.5cm is tiny, but probably why you are fast up those hills.

Thanks Beth!

I distinctly remember that post of yours, which is why I finally decided to get the 'ol tape measure out, however, I forgot the part about the string. I'll have to re-measure so that I can track my progress in the gym this winter.

Let's just say, based on current measurements, I won't be hitting the track anytime soon. Although I'd like to come down and watch you race next year.

to be honest, big quads really don't make people fast; lots of people with smaller quads are faster than me. you know what they say: if you can't beat the competition, create your own.

i think the key to being good at track racing is finding big, old men to draft behind. that is my trick.

Good to know! Maybe I'll give it a go next year.

It's supposed to be great training for road racing.
