There is a new rising star on the NCNCA women's cycling scene. Her name is Lindsay Myers and she races for Dewars Racing Team. Lindsay is 19 years old and resides in Santa Rosa. She has won almost every race she has entered this season, including both Sea Otter races and Wente (as a CAT 4) and Berkeley Hills (as a CAT 3). At Berkeley Hills she dragged the combined Women's 35+ 1/2/3 and Women's 3 field around the course and launched a solo attack on the second to last climb to secure the win. This girl has talent! Even more impressive was her top 10 finish at Mt Hamilton in the W 1/2/3 race:
Field size: 38
1 Ruth Corset Jazz Apple Cycling Team
2 Josie Loane Australian National Team
3 (1 - Cat1) Flavia Oliveira Vanderkitten
4 (2 - Cat1) Victoria Bastide Team TIBCO
5 (3 - Cat1) Betina Hold Unattached
6 Alison Shanks Jazz Apple Cycling Team
7 (4 - Cat1) Jane Despas Unattached
8 (5 - Cat1) Kelly McDonald Touchstone Climbing
9 (6 - Cat1) Maria Monica Touchstone Climbing
10 (1 - Cat3) Lindsay Myers Dewar's Racing Team
I expect Lindsay will be a CAT 2 in no time. I would strongly encourage one of the local pro women's teams to scoop her up and this girl is destined to be a HUGE success! And she's super nice.
