Have you noticed that driver's in the Bay Area honk their horn when they go through a tunnel? It's really weird. Traffic will enter a tunnel and all of a sudden a chorus of honking horns rings out. Little car horns. Big car horns. Truck horns. It's crazy. Once through a tunnel the horns will stop. I don't get it. People in Boston do not honk their horns in tunnels.
Can anyone tell me why Bay Area drivers honk their horns in tunnels?
