Too much talk

I am a HUGE music fan. I was an iPOD early adopter and I've been going to concerts since I was in 6th grade. When I am in my car, I like to listen to the radio as it often proves to be a good source for new music.

What I don't understand is why radio stations do not play music in the morning. Why is drive time radio always talk radio, even on the music stations? I don't get it.

I don't want to hear talk show hosts blabbing on incessantly about nothing, I want to listen to music. It's amazing to me that all six of my pre-programmed stations fill the air waves with drivel in the morning as opposed to music. Why is that? Is there some study that says people prefer to listen to talk than music in the morning?
