In an effort to protect myself against skin-aging UVA and UVB rays I tend to coat my face with sunblock. For most of the year I have been using a Shiseido 55+ sunblock that must have Zinc oxide or some equivalent in it as it always leaves a small white sheen on my face. Yesterday I tried a new Neutrogena SPF 70 sunblock that was supposed to be "ultra sheer" = will not leave me looking like Casper the friendly ghost. I returned home from my ride last night, having passed three friends coming off the bridge to find, much to my horror and dismay, that the new sunblock actually makes my face even whiter! So, the Casper effect is actually worse, if that's at all possible. Humph. Back to the drawing board. If anyone can recommend a high SPF, very water resistant or water proof sunblock that does not leave you looking like Casper the friendly ghost, please let me know.
