My approach in life is that there is no harm in asking. What's the worst thing that can happen, someone can say "No."
So don't be bashful:
-- Ask that girl out on a date
-- Ask your boss for more money
-- Ask your manager if you can take the day off
-- Ask the sales person if they are willing to come down on price
-- Ask the United rep if you can have an exit row seat
Faced with the prospect of spending over $2,425 at AAMCO to overhaul the transmission on my car, I decided to call the dealer and ask them if they would be willing to cover any of the cost since my car was only five years old, had just come off warranty and only has 43,000 miles.
What's the worst that can happen? They can say "No."
Much to my surprise, they are going to cover the $3,345.00 cost of a new transmission, so all I need to pay for is labor! Sweet! Plus, they will provide me with a loaner (I happened to mention that I had a bike race in Yolo this weekend).
Good things come to those who ask.

Good news. Looks like the wind blew away that cloud over your head.
Thank god as it's been lurking there for a long time! Thanks for all your support.
wow! would you ask my mechanic to cover my oil leak? I'm looking at a $1,400 bill. give me a bandaid and a wad of gum, if you ask me!
$1,400 to fix an oil leak! Yikes. Maybe you need to find a new mechanic?
I get free things ALL the time at Whole Foods, my friend continually complains that she never receives a thing- well stop shopping eith your eyes to the floor, and maybe smile once in a while. I LOVE smooth talking my way into the first organic cherries of the season or a half pound of chocolate m&m's!!!
Nice work Em, sweeeeeeet!!!
