I am tired, my legs are tired and Patterson Pass is tomorrow. Things are not looking or feeling good. My season unofficially ended at this race last year when I started the climb and felt as if someone had taken a sledge hammer to my legs. My body screamed "Stop right there, what the hell do you think you are doing" and pretty much shut down on me. I am hoping to suffer a little less this year, but if this morning's workout is any indication of what's to come -- I am in BIG trouble! And on top of it all, I have not been sleeping. I think finishing the race tomorrow will be a big achievement as I expect it to redefine suffering.I am planing to do the W3 race which only has a double dose of pain. I am sure that Webcor, TIBCO and Touchstone will bring out all of their big dawgs to inflect a super sized portion of pain on the W1/2/3 field.
In the men's fields, a lot depends on who shows up and how their legs are feeling at this point in the season. I'm putting my dollar down on the berry boys (Moore, Mattis, Hunt) or Huang in the Pro 1/2 field, unless Eric Wohlberg lines up. In the Master's race, will we see another epic battle between the Safeway boys

and AMD-Discovery Channel

or will Phipps steal the show?
