Playing musical chairs

The game has begun less than a week after Discovery Channel announced the team would be disbanded at the end of the season.

As previously announced, big George will be going to T-Mobile and it now looks as if he will have some company in the way of Jani Brajkovic.

Antonio Cruz has found a new home with the BMC Professional Cycling Team.

That's 3 done, 24 to go.

Separately, it looks as if Astana may lose it's Pro Tour license as a result of all the recent doping scandals within the team. That would throw a whole new bunch of riders into the job pool fighting for openings on teams. Let's see -- 26 riders on the team, less the 3 recently banned from cycling = 23 soon to be unemployed. I would think Kloeden and Savoldelli would have the best chance of finding a new home, however, I am not convinced that Kloeden is clean, so his best bet may be Tinkoff Credit Systems or some other professional continental team.
