That is not only the motto of the Alcatraz Challenge Aquathlon & Swim that I posted something about on Sunday, but it's what literally happened to this 51 year-old woman! Apparently her body was discovered floating in the bay near Crissy Field beach and she was pronounced dead at 9:32 a.m. It explains why there were so many ambulances.
It also confirms two things: 1. Never swim in the bay; and 2. stick to cycling.

An acquintance of mine was one of the paramedics on the scene of this tragic day. She thinks it was a heart attack. I've done that swim three times, and that was three times too many. Cycling is much better!
What a terrible way to go. At least it wasn't a great white attack. Kudos to you for daring to swim in the Bay!
