Speed through SFO

If you fly out of SFO you will soon be able to speed through security gates faster! The cost of speed: A $99.95 annual fee and background checks.

Pre-screened travelers will get an ID card encrypted with their fingerprints or iris images which they can use to zip through a special security lane at the airport. Oh so high tech and spy-like!

To get the card, you need to fill out biographical information at www.flyclear.com, which is used by the TSA to conduct a background check. Then visit one of the Fly Clear kiosks and get your photograph taken and have your irises and fingerprints
scanned.

It sounds like a great idea to me, other than the fee. Who wouldn't want to pass through security faster these days. I am sure some civil rights group will squawk about the loss of privacy or personal liberties, etc., but come on, don't you think that people who oppose background checks do so because they have something to hide?
